3.Hazards Identification
Routes of Entry:
Skin Contact: Minor Eye Contact: Minor Ingestion: Minor Inhalation: Minor
Emergency Overview: The ingredients in this product are reacted and no residue of reactants exists. Inhalation of fine particulate may cause minor irritation of the respiratory tract. Contact with eyes may irritate the eye due to the presence of a foreign object.
Acute Health Effects:
INHALATION: In processing, fines may created. Inhalation of fines may cause irritation of the upper respiratory tract causing coughing, sneezing, or in some cases, production of phlegm.
SKIN CONTACT: Not expected to have any effect on the skin other than irritation by adrasion.
EYE CONTACT: Contact with eye will cause irritation due to the presence of a foreign particle. Do not rub eye.
INGESTION: Ingestion is an unlikely route of entry. This is not expected to have any acute effects unless there is an accidental ingestion of a gross amount of this product. Symptoms may be gastrointestinal distress causing stomach pains.
Chronic Health Effects: Not applicable
Medical Conditions Aggravated by Exposure: Pre-existing eye, skin, respiratory tract disorders may be aggravated by exposure, but only because of nuisance particulate.
4.First Aid Measures
INHALATION: If overcome by high concentrations of nuisance dust, remove to fresh air. Seek medical attention for any respiratory stress that may occur due to exposure. Give artificial respiration if indicated.
SKIN CONTACT: Wash dust from skin with soap and water. If an irritation occurs, seek appropriate medical attention.
EYE CONTACT: If contact with eye occurs, remove contact lenses. Flush with plenty of water until the foreign matter is washed away.
INGESTION: In the unlikely even that ingestion occurs, consult a physician if the victim shows signs of gastrointestinal distress. Small amounts may pass through the body without harm.
GENERAL COMMENTS: Good personal hygiene is essential. Avoid eating, smoking or drinking in work areas.
5.Fire Fighting Measures
| Flash point: | Not applicable |
| Autoignition Temperature: | Not determined |
| Lower Explosive Limit: | Not applicable |
| Upper Explosion Limit: | No |
| Sensitivity to Impact: | No |
| Sensitivity to Static Discharge: | No |
Hazardous Combustion Products: Burning may produce oxides of carbon and nitrogen, unidentified organic compounds in smoke, styrene.
Extinguishing Media: Use water spray. carbon dioxide, or dry chemical.
Fire Fighting Instructions: Fire involved product may produce toxic thermal decomposition products. Firefighters must wear self-contained breathing apparatus with full face-piece operated in pressure demand or positive-pressure mode. Wear full protective clothing.
6.Accidental Release Measures
Personal Protection: If remediation of a spill will create dust, wear protective clothing to prevent contact with eyes and skin. Wear approved NIOSH dust mask with N95 efficiency.
Environmental Precautions: Small spills are not expected to have any environmental impact but care should be taken to collect as much of the spilled material as possible.
Cleanup Procedures: Use methods of clean up that will not create nuisance dust. If this is not possible, use protective equipment mentioned above.
Place contaminated particulate into appropriate containers for disposal. Recycling of spilled material is possible if clean and uncontaminated.
7.Handling and Storage
Handling Procedures: Use handling methods that avoid the generation of nuisance dust. Keep containers closed when not in use. Follow safe work procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
Storage: Store product in dry, ventilated areas.
8.Exposure Controls, Personal Protection
Engineering Controls: If used indoors, use general or local exhaust to maintain the concentration in the atmosphere below the exposure limits stated in Section 2.
Respiratory Protection: Use a NIOSH approved N95 particulate respirator.
Skin Protection: No recommendation unless worker is subject to irritation from organic particulate. In those cases, wear sufficient protective equipment to prevent contact with skin.
Eye and Face Protection: Wear protective eyeglasses with side shields.
Other: Eye wash station should be located near work area.
